Hey folks, Harry here... Now every now and again we sit here at AICN and find one of them little films we try to call your attention to... Last March during ShoWest, I first told you about GOAT ON FIRE & SMILING FISH!
If you click on that link, you'll revisit that happy joyful review. Because for one... when you go to ShoWest... you really don't expect to see perfect little tiny films.... You expect nothing but the facades of Vegas and the silicon mounds of thumping grinding showgirls... So imagine (or go read) my shock at watching and loving this little bit of humanity... an oasis of honesty that charmed me at an instant. Well, the filmmakers took a break from walking little old ladies across the street and returning lost wallets to their rightful owners con contents toda... to send me a copy of their trailer for this movie. I had ol Webmaster Dave and Robogeek set about locating and placing said trailer online for you good folks to get a glimpse of.... THE TRAILER!!!!
And then, Robo in his completeness sent forth a link to... THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE!!!
And you should then be aware that our enthusiasm for this film... which is simply a night out at a theater that you'll love, we are working with the filmmakers to bring two free screenings of the film. One in New York prior to its August 25th debut at the Angelika Theater.... and the other in Los Angeles (still working out the details) prior to the limited release date of September 1st.
This is designed to do one thing.... to show you readers this movie, and then have you report on the film.... pan, wavy hand or wave... A tailor-made spy mission. Your mission should you choose to accept it. There won't be no coffee and treats... no electroplated gold glow in the dark condoms irradiated to kill all sperms.... Nope... nothing up the sleeves... just this simple little movie. No studios, no big campaigns or tv spots... a movie that exists from best friend reccomendations and laundry musings and the writings upon bathroom walls... No splashy stars, no cgi, no plastic people. Just a damn fine film. I'll have more details later on about the screenings and how you'll be able to attend in those areas... Stay tuned...
