Hmmm, Harry here... wondering... how different a Soviet Aircraft Carrier is from an American one... I mean, ol Michael Bay is down there in Corpus Christi shooting upon the LEXINGTON... Ya need a com tower and a flat ass runway... How different can they be? Probably showing my stupidity about Soviet weapons of war... but I´m one of those peacnik types anyways... Ahhhh, Madrid is beautiful
Hi everyone!
Ye is here.
Retired former Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk has been chosen for shooting the new Hong Kong movie, Chinese Gambling Hero (sorry, I don’t know its English name). Although much of the movie was shot in Japan other places, Minsk will be used for the final showdown between the "gambling hero" and his enemy. The sequence will start with a motorboat chase, followed by a fight from lower decks to the main deck, and then end up at a fighter plane. Four-day leasing fee is nearly six figures in US dollars.
Minsk started to serve the Pacific Fleet of the Soviet Union in 1978 and was decommissioned in 1994. It was sold to a Korean company for scrap and later was acquired by China’s Minsk Aircraft Carrier Industrial Company for nearly 5 million US dollars. Minsk has become part of the Military Theme Park in Shenzhen, just North of Hong Kong.
