El Cosmico here, just reminding my fellow Austinites again about the upcoming Austin Sci-Fi Expo, coming this July 29th and 30th.
Congratulations to David Fawcett, who won our VIP pass giveaway by answering this question...I've got a green vampire and a love flower on my mind. What movie am I thinking of?
The answer, of course, is Jing Wong's absolutely amazing "Wu Xia Qi Gong Zhu", otherwise known as "Holy Weapon". Featuring Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Cheung, Damian Lau, and a whole bunch of other great folk, Holy Weapon is one of the most entertaining films of all time. For more info, check out the Alamo Drafthouse, which is showing it once more tonight. If you live here in Austin, you really shouldn't miss this film.
Of course, all of you who didn't win should try to make it to the convention anyway. What else can you look forward to at the convention? Well, first of all, there will be a few folks showing up...like:
- RAY PARK!
- Mike Quinn: Puppeteer (Star Wars Nien Numb),
- Richard LeParmentier: (Star Wars Admiral Motti),
- Jerome Blake: (Star Wars: Rune Haako, Mas Ameedas, and others),
- JG Hertzler: (Star Trek: Martok), and
- Robert O'Reilly: (Star Trek: Gowron)
Mail in your answers, first correct one gets the pass!
