Well those are the results this year. Don't forget that most of this films are already on video and that LA LEY DE HERODES and DEL OLVIDO AL NO ME ACUERDO are on the L.A. LATINO FILM FESTIVAL and will close the festival with a screening of the movie LA LEY DE HERODES on Sunday 30th @ 7:30 pm.

LA LEY DE HERODES

This is a dark comedy that has somehow the theme of the political situation in Mexico, and this is why Luis Estrada had some trouble on taking the movie to the big screen, but everything went fine because the film had a really nice acceptance from the publc and a real succes in the theaters. This movie has a guy named Juan Vargas(Damian Alcazar), who works as a janitor in the building of the ruling political party and somehow other "politics" decide to make of him a Mayor of a small village in Mexico called San Pedro de los Saguaros, after him getting the news and get all surprise and excited , with enthusiasm and full of ideas he once thought when he use to dream of becoming a politic, he and his wife Gloria go to San Pedro to claim the post Vargas got to be in the political area. Once they get to San Pedro, Juan starts his job with confidence and the best of his intentions, but he gets in some trouble and he doesn't really know how to be a Mayor,he runs into different situations and when he is ready to live the town and quit of neing the Mayor, he decides to go to the capital to get some advice from his boss(the president), there his boss gives to him two things that will help Juan on getting the respect and the power of a Mayor, a gun and a law encyclopedia. Armed and using the "law" he finally finds a way get authority and make money(corruption maybe).
