WizardWorld Austin Starts This FRIDAY, with Loads of Cool Guests & Events!

"Monty Cristo" reporting in to remind fellow Austinites that our local "big huge comic con" is about to start, and the guest list is pretty impressive on top of some cool panels and events, including a rare look at an amazing collection of Frank Frazetta art owned by Austin's own Robert Rodriguez. Here's an assortment of people and events on the schedule that caught my eye:

Movie & TV People

William Shatner and Scott Bakula are doing a "Captains" panel together
Robert Rodriguez has a panel moderated by Headgeek Harry Knowles himself
Bruce Campbell
Michael Rooker (fresh from filming Guardians of the Galaxy)
Norman Reedus
Lou Ferrigno
the great James Hong
Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid, not the comics editor!)
supstar voice actor and longtime HULK Fred Tatasciore

Comics People

Stan Lee
Greg Capullo (current Batman artist, also on a Batman panel Sunday)
Dennis O'Neill
Neal Adams
Mark Bagley
Rodney Ramos

Notable Panels (Among MANY)

11am Saturday ::: Stan Lee's Q&A/panel/talk, and if you've never seen him talk and cut up live, you have absolutely got to at least once
12:30pm Saturday ::: the World Premiere of Marvel Animation's Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United, complete with Q&A from the longtime voice of Hulk, Fred Tatasciore
1:50pm Saturday ::: a simulcast of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special
4:45pm Saturday ::: Robert Rodriguez and Harry, with surprises planned, apparently...
5:45pm Saturday ::: the Bruce fandom knows by just his first name
12:30pm Sunday ::: the one and only Lo Pan himself James Hong, and I hope someone comes prepared with Teen Lust questions
2:30pm Sunday ::: Batman at 75, with current Batman penciler Greg Capullo, legendary Bat-editor Dennis O'Neill, and Batman and Psychology: A Dark and Stormy Knight author Travis Langley
2:30pm Sunday ::: my pal Paul Alvarado-Dykstra and his producing partner Samantha Inoue-Harte have a panel focusing on their upcoming animated feature adaptation of Tailchaser's Song, complete with exclusive sneak peeks at pre-production work.

There are tons more on the guest list, and you should check out the programming schedule too. This show has grown in size considerably each year, and they continue to up their game.
