Greetings, terrestrials! ROBOGEEK here with yet another trailer for your viewing pleasure this weekend!
Faithful readers will recall that Disney's ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE is a project that AICN has been following for about three years. So it's particularly satisfying to finally get to see this teaser, which apparently was just released online at the official website, located at http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/atlantis/index.html (Thanks to Greg for the heads-up!)
To access the 1:09 teaser (which you'll likely find yourself watching over and over), click on what Greg astutely describes as "the red squiggly icon on the scroll pages," which takes you to a page offering three choices of file size in QuickTime format: 240x132 (2.7 MB), 320x172 (5.2 MB), and 480x260 (11.6 MB).
If there's one thing Disney knows how to do, it's how to cut an evocative teaser. This one calls to mind the superb teasers to "Mulan" and "Tarzan," which were very atmospheric, offering only images set to haunting music -- with no voice-over or dialogue attached. (Although this teaser does include some dialogue at the end, though not in English...)
I just hope the film measures up to what's promised here, as the teaser evokes equal parts Jules Verne, Mike Mignola (who contributed designs), and anime.
Check it out, and post your thoughts below in Talk Back.
