Some friends with contacts and insight I can't imagine have told me that LucasFilm was mighty perturbed about the pics from inside their hangar. The reports that I have heard allege that LucasFilm is contemplating going to court over the next group of pics that "come from inside", claiming receipt of stolen property. This isn't necessarily true, just what I have heard via people I trust. However, Chris Kivlehan's site (which I linked to yesterday) has apparently had the plug pulled by the company that had it up. This is the same policy that Disney used against Miguel. If this is true then this fella here might be in a heap of trouble cause he posted 10 more pics today from the Tunisia set. I think they're grrroooovvvvyyyyyy!!!
What do I think about all of this? Weeeelllllllll, it's like this. I love Star Wars. So much that even though my car broke down, and I am without transportation in Austin right now, I did purchase the Emperor with Lightning Bolt Action Figure today. It's real cool. I like it. Makes cool light things. I played with it alot while looking at my stupid vehicle with a broken foot. Right now as I look around my room at a glance, I see autographs from all the principles from the first set of films, toys, posters, intermingled with Indiana Jones memoribilia, along with other classic Hollywood images and material.
Does this make me special? No. There are thousands that have cool Star Wars and LucasFilm material gracing their cabinets, walls, and lives. Lucas set out to create a modern day myth for a generation that didn't have a myth to believe in. This generation believes in Star Wars. It is a belief and myth that we have embraced. There are hundreds if not thousands of sites devoted in some part to Star Wars. Mine is no different than many of these, except through it's readership. I have alot of readers. Star Wars and the Prequel news is part of that, but not the whole reason. The Prequels are the films I am most looking forward to. Same as Scott, Chris, Garth, Corona, Red 5, and the thousands of others.
I did not set out with malice and forethought to assemble images from inside the sets, I did not send the spy there, but he/she/it did come to me. The images were represented to me as being taken by the person, who's name I do not even know. I know them simply as THE BOTHAN SPY and I refer to them as "IMPERIAL DROID." Did these images upset you guys at Lucasfilm? Did the images of the Tunisia set that Chris posted upset you? Or the ten more pics that this site posted today? I don't know.
Why is that? Why do I not know what upsets yall? Welllll, let me think.... hmmmmmm..... Maybe its that you people have a serious communication problem. If you have a problem, contact me, or the owner of any of the other sites. We'd love to hear from yall. We love what yall have been doing. And are every bit as enthusiastic as you are about these films. Instead of a totalitarian dictatorship of a myth that is suppose to ultimately be for our generation and future generations. Share with us what you want. Help us help you. You will find that at least I am a very cool dude. Scott Chitwood over at the A&M site thought I would be a difficult Austin Hippie Head Banging Skate Boarder anti-establishment heavy metal dude. NOPE, I listen to John Williams music most times, with forays into Steiner, Korngold, Horner, Elfman and Poledouris. And when Lost In Space comes out, I imagine good ol' Goldsmith will find his way into my CD player. I am also an Eagle Scout, like that dude named Spielberg, a buddy of Lucasfilm's I believe.
The earliest discussions on film I had concerned Star Wars and their future films. I will not stop talking about them. They are my myth. The legend I carry inside and that I share with those that will partake. You started this with that dang film. Other film makers are being very cool. The people that are making next summer's Armageddon are bending over with cooperation, even sending me a copy of the trailer on video, wish I had a capture card, but I have NO MONEY. Also Emmerich and Devlin are doing things like releasing GODZILLA roars tonight. Coooool, I like the sound of a Lizard screaming in the morning. Brings me joy. If my site offends thee, don't pluck it out, ask for help. I'm there, always have been. The same ol phone number, same email address, it really is that simple. Hope to hear from you guys, not the lawyers. You see at least Scott Chitwood and I have met and talked about what we felt was important to keep secret. We agreed that the overall plot of the film shouldn't be disclosed, that the fate's of major characters shouldn't be disclosed, and that absolutely under no case was the script to appear online.
Why did Scott and I agree to this? Because we love the experience of seeing these films for the first time. With the Imperial Droid's last correspondence, about half of it was not printed, because it would spoil the last 30 minutes of Episode 1. I didn't post this, even with spoiler notices because I knew that such information would run rampant, unchecked through the internet. And I don't want to be responsible for "SPOILING" the film for anyone.
If there are concerns, then voice them directly to the web page owners, stipulate your position, and I believe you will be amazed how cooperative they'll be. These people love these films, and basically worship what yall are doing. Don't condemn them, or shut them down. TALK TO THEM. They will become your most vocal allies. After all each of these Web Page dudes will be camping at least 36 hours for their tickets to see the first showing.
And to Chris Kivlehan: "I loved your site, and hang in there, we're with ya man."

Most appropriate Star Wars quote:
"You are part of the rebel alliance and a traitor...take her away."
Don't be the Empire!!!
