Christopher Walken to play father to Lenny Kravitz in LITTLE ROOTIE TOOTIE!

Papa Vinyard here, now here's a little somethin' for ya...

Deadline has announced that Christopher Walken has signed onto director Daniel Algrant's LITTLE ROOTIE TOOTIE, which will have the legendary actor playing another musician succumbing to mental instability, after A LATE QUARTET. Walken's veteran pianist will be losing his marbles while mourning his recently-deceased wife, inspiring his son, played by Lenny Kravitz, to come home from his own music tour in Europe. Weird casting combo; I dig it.

I love seeing Walken balance his off-the-wall craziness in stuff like SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS with more grounded films like this and A LATE QUARTET, although I have to admit, I'm excited to see him devolve into madness over the course of the film. I have not seen Algrant's previous work, which includes the Al Pacino film PEOPLE I KNOW and the Jeff Buckley biopic GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY, so I have no idea what kind of film this will actually end up being, but anything with Walken in a leading role, particularly when either music or madness are involved, definitely has my attention.
