Hey, all. "Moriarty" here. Well, somewhere in Los Angeles, Scott Rosenberg is busy toiling away on SPIDER-MAN, working from a new outline after he and Sam Raimi threw out Koepp's draft. I hope Rosenberg is doing right by the character... I really do. I think we've seen this past weekend that designs can stand to be tweaked and adjusted so long as the essential characters that drive these stories are respected and intact. Bryan Singer... Tom DeSanto... they've issued a real challenge to guys like Raimi and Mark Steven Johnson. I think it's exciting. This news comes from a new source, but he seems very confident of his information. We'll see how he pans out as things progress. What he's got to say is definitely interesting. Let the speculation begin!!
I have some vague BUT VERY RELIABLE info on the design of the Green Goblin for the Spidey movie. Someone involved with the production described the Green Goblin as looking far different than he does in the comic. The words "Futuristic" and "Metallic" stand out in my memory. He went on to say that the Goblin (No word on whether or not it was Harry or Norman Osbourne) did not have those pointed ears, but rather some sort of metal head fins..or horns.. or batman like headpiece..he didn't do a very good job of describing this aspect.
As for the glider he rides on, it was described as "jagged"..or "spiky".. Perhaps it's like a flying weapon designed for decapitations or spearing or something. I'm not entirely certain what he was getting at, but the word "Futuristic" came up again. Frankly, I'd like the movie to take place in the early 60's....No word on casting either.
Oh yeah, call me Ogre.
