Hey folks, Harry here in San Diego with some clarafications about the J K Rowling info from the other day... Seems that she feels that the 'some confidence' quote was misquoted and taken out of context, and believe me... I would like to apologize... Personally, I have confidence in Chris Columbus... I was that fella that liked BICENTENNIAL MAN, and has been rooting for Chris to get back to his more fantastical leanings. Here we have a bit of an advance sneak peek at an interview she gave the BBC about her upcoming film that Chris is directing. So... stay tuned... The search for a Brit Harry continues...
Harry - hello again - I've contacted you before - I produce Simon Mayo's show (Monday to Fridays 9am - 12 noon UK time) on BBC Radio 1, the national BBC network for young people. Yesterday J K Rowling pre-recorded an interview that will go out this Thursday July 20th at about 11-10am UK time. You can hear it on the Web at By Clicking Here. The key things I have to report are:
1. She has every confidence in Chris Columbus and is very upset about the 'some confidence' mis-quote on your recent story!!
2. No casting will be confirmed until they have a definate Harry Potter....but they have narrowed the potential Harry's right down and final auditions should be soon.
3. She rang Chris herself to double check Liam Aiken had not been cast!! He hasn't.
4. The cast looks like being all British!!!
5. She says she is surprised herself how much power they have given her on the picture
6. Had Steven Spielberg done the film he definately would have Americanised it!!
7. There is a chance of a full blown radio series being produced - could be awesome!
8. She says the film will be as near to her vision of the books as possible - and she cannot wait to see a Quidditch match realised on screen!!
Hope this is useful!
