Well folks, You will have to excuse me here for a second, but... in the below... Jackie Chan has an interview where the question comes to him, what would he do if he stopped making movies... and Jackie says that he would want to use his amazing physical prowess and smart brain to become a Spy! I couldn't agree with Jackie more. Not only that, but if he became a spy for AICN, he could not only help kick evil's ass, but make use of his vast array of film contacts. I mean... just think about it. "Jackie Chan, your mission is to break into Skywalker Ranch and get us the script and animatics for Episode 2 and 3!" Can you imagine the ultimate showdown between Jackie Chan and Rick McCallum. As Jackie picks up the built-ups of TIE Interceptors and begins to jus waylay into Rick, who stands there unflinching till a corner of the Interceptor rips a piece of the skin back to reveal the metal endoskeleton. I mean folks... Is McCallum like really real? I mean... Denis Muren is a space alien super genius like the Pot Scientist from CHEECH AND CHONG'S NEXT MOVIE... I know this... oh... well, um... here's Ye and his scoop about Jackie Chan
Hi Harry!
It’s Ye again.
Here is my report of Jackie Chan:
Jackie Chan’s new movie, Spy is being shot in Turkey. This is a Chinese language film with actors from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. It is the first Jackie Chan movie ever being shot in Turkey and the Turkish government is very supportive. Jackie said, “although I am the Tourist Ambassador of Hong Kong, Turkey sill deserves appreciation from me. Their government is very supportive. For my movie, they closed several street blocks and allowed me to do explosions at a reservoir. No matter what, if possible, I want to shoot more movies in Turkey.” Turkish government had allowed the movie to be shot at some hundred-year-old buildings. Part of the movie was shot in a fishing village and a set cost almost one million HK dollars (about 130,000 US dollars) was built. Local fishermen have sent fish to them everyday and Jackie has given them key chains with Chinese character “dragon”. Everyday, fans have been waiting outside Jackie’s hotel. One fan brought a Turkish poster of one of Jackie’s movie. It was made with Jimmy Wang Yu more than twenty years ago. Not even Jackie remembers the title. He said he would carefully preserve it.
In June, President Clinton had invited Jackie Chan to attend the White House premiere of Shanghai Noon, because Chelsea Clinton is a big fan of Jackie. For not delaying filming in Turkey, he had to turn down the presidential invitation. Jackie said, “Although I missed the chance to see President Clinton, I believe we can meet in the future. Actually, it is already an honor for just receiving his invitation. I am very glad that Chinese films being appreciated by a foreign country’s leader.” Although unable to meet Chelsea, he has planned to send her an autographed T-shirt.
Days ago, while shooting a chasing scene, a new camera was smashed by a motorcycle. Jackie is very upset by that. The shooting is planed to be done by August 5, but Turkey was attacked by a heat wave, two people have been killed, Turkish government ordered a nation-wide three-day break, the shooting is expected to last several more days. Jackie said, “The heat wave is so horrible, fortunately, no crew member has ever complained.”
Here are some on set photos of Spy. Sorry, I don’t own these pictures, you have to check them out by your self (from Ming Pao Daily News): pic 1 pic 2, pic 3, pic 4.

The following are from a chatting with Jackie Chan:
Xi Xi: How did you come out the idea for Shanghai Noon?
Jackie: Because I want to introduce more Chinese things to the world. In Asian, young people are too influenced by the West. I want to use my reputation in Hollywood to shoot something Chinese.
A Run: You try so hard in every movie. Are you afraid of losing your life?
Jackie: I make my movie in a very professional way. Today’s young people should learn more and should master at least one of them. Like me, if I can’t make good movie I would be a loser. So, I don’t care if movies are directed by me or produced by my company, I always try very hard. Just because of such attitude, I have been praised, no matter in Hollywood or in Turkey.
Muo Shi: Are you going to continue to make actions and comedies? Have you planned to try anything else?
Jackie: I am still a newcomer in abroad. If I shot a drama in Turkey, they could not understand. In Asia, I have tried movies like Gorgeous. But for international movie market, I still prefer actions. Actions can enter Middle East and American market.
A Run: What hobbies do you have other than making movies?
Jackie: I have many hobbies. I enjoy doing business, running restaurants, so on. We have glamor of the East, we can play Karaoke. I also like doing garment business, selling clothing and hats and accessories. All the above are for gifts to foreigners and all contain the Chinese character “dragon”. I have make so many of them that I am going to open a “Jackie Chan Store” by the end of this year or early next year. Its English name is going to be “Dragoneast” and will sell such stuffs with the word “dragon”.
Peng Qing: As a big international star, what opinion do you have on the newcomers and what suggestions can you give to them?
Jackie: Nowadays, it’s very hard to be a newcomer. Unlike in the past, actors only relied on their faces. There are so many things to learn, you have to be, in English, “multi-talent”. Like myself, I can direct, can be fight director, as well as writer. That’s why I have survived for so many years. As a newcomer, you have to be patient, you should not try to run or jump before you are able to walk. Do not be influenced by the media, like the report of someone has brought a sports car or someone has gone vacation. Without a solid foundation, just forget about going vacation. In fact, there is no such word as “vacation” in my dictionary.
A Run: Someone has asked: if you no longer make movies, what do plan to do?
Jackie: I will choose a job to be some kind of spy.
A Run: Why?
Jackie: I enjoy exploring, enjoy travelling around the world, and enjoy doing exiting things. I believe using my excellent martial art and smart brain, I can be a perfect spy.
A Run: As one of the most successful actors, what is your dream that has not been fulfilled?
Jackie: I hope the market of Mainland China being more opened. Let people all over the world to come to China and learn Chinese, instead Chinese go to foreign countries to learn English. Also, I hope the Southeast Asia wins the battle against movie pirates sooner, otherwise our Asian film industry will be destroyed. Today’s young people have almost completely conquered by Western culture. So I hope all young people come together to fight movie pirates and protect knowledge properties.
Xin Yu: Do you have any new plan?
Dragon: In April next year, if everything goes as planned, I will start to do a sequel of Shanghai Noon. I hope I can bring more Chinese things to other countries. You can see at some foreign award ceremonies, I was wearing traditional Chinese clothing. I just want the world to know more about Chinese culture and let them be interested in Chinese culture..
