More MUMMY RETURNS Set Reports From London

Well geeks, here's a couple of eye witness reports of THE MUMMY RETURNS filming in merry olde London. This is real Frontline geek stuff. Nothing earth shattering, just plain old geeky fanboy stuff. Father Geek loves these types of reports, fans being fans, sneaking a peak at the forbidden, then telling their buddies all about it. Only in this case their buddies turn out to be the entire world. Guys when you get those pictures back send them to us. This is what this site is all about...

Obviously some people weren't that bothered about what I reported yesterday, but for anyone still interested the crew are filming for a further two night at University College London. Having been in the quad during the setup, I saw several classic 1930s cars, and a red London bus, which was driven by John Hannah.

Security were having none of it, and escorted us to the gates, imparing the view somewhat. However, using the swipe cards we got back into the building via a side entrance and snuck into the geology department to see Hannah, Weiss and Fraser all on set.

GOOD WORK!!!

Hannah was in a dark suit and appeared to be driving the bus infront of the 'British Museum' where Fraser, Weiss and a bloke with a long black coat and long black hair brandishing a pistol jumped aboard before making their escape. There was lots of dry ice about, and several mini Olympic torch like affairs giving the whole area a sort of eerie ambiance.

Weiss was in long skirt and short top, hence running scenes might prove rather eye candyish (snigger, snigger). Fraser has that stupid cross chest belt contraption on again and a little blonde kid was also kicking about, although by midnight I was knackered and had seen enough.

Will be back tonight though, Sorry if this is rather boring and pedestrian for you media hungry Yanks, but for a major feature film to be filming in my college interupting a rather dull period of graft in the lab, I think its worth reporting.

cheers,

Jimster

And this from another eye-witness...

I'm another postgrad at UCL, who saw the filming last night in the main quad. Yeah, all three of the main stars were there, running from the main domed building (redressed to pretend that it's the British Museum) to a double-decker bus (redressed with period livery). Hannah jumped into the driver's seat, the others - Weisz, Fraser and an Egyptian-looking bloke - jumped in the back. I took a few photos, which I haven't had developed yet, but I have got some photos back from the developer of the redressed building that I took yesterday, showing the "British Museum" signs, and some posters advertising a display of "Some Treasures of Egypt", if you're interested.

Michael.

And here's yet another little tidbit of info...

I've got a tiny tidbit of info on The Mummy Returns for ya, don't know if it's all that much, but you might find it interesting. A friend of mine in Lonodon works part time for a lighting company, and he's recently been working on the biggest order this company have ever had. The reason for this is to light........a Pyramid. Apparently they've built a full sized pyramid, only now they're worried about the English weather not being quite bright enough, and have ordered a huge amout of lighting to try and make it look like the desert. It seems to me that this production will at least be big in scale.
