Hey Yo, Draven here.
This news just made my day, Deadline is reporting that Lucas Black is returning to the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise with the upcoming seventh one. Not only that but he will also be a part of the planned eighth and ninth films in the franchise. Black starred in the third film, TOKYO DRIFT, and so this news isn’t too surprising as the sixth film tied everything back to TOKYO DRIFT.
I am actually a big fan of TOKYO DRIFT and I like Lucas Black a lot (he was also great in FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS). With Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Paul Walker returning, along with Jason Statham, Tony Jaa, and Kurt Russell joining the cast, Universal is going all out on this next installment.
I have always had a deep love for this franchise but I still can’t believe this is where we are, 12 years after the release of the first one. JURASSIC PARK 3 was released in the same summer as THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS and we will have had at least six new FAST AND FURIOUS films in the time it has taken one more JURASSIC PARK film to get off the ground. Mind-blowing.
