1/6 SCALE GENERAL ZOD FROM HOT TOYS
General Zod isn’t a bad guy. He just wants to return Krypton to its former glory. Who cares if some silly humans get in the way? Hot Toys will memorialize the last great Kryptonian military leader with a 1/6 scale action figure featuring the likeness of actor Michael Shannon. It will also come with an interchangeable armored head, three pairs of swappable hands, armor, a cape, a figure base and a body with 30 points of articulation. He should release in either the second or third quarter of next year or you can preorder him here.
THE WALKING DEAD TV SERIES 4 FROM McFARLANE TOYS
Fans of The Walking Dead TV series have a bunch of new 4-inch scale action figures to look forward to. You can expect to see Andrea, The Governor, Carl, a Riot Gear Zombie and a Riot Gear Gas Mask zombie in series 4. Also Daryl and Merle will team-up for a special two-pack. Finally an exclusive season 3 version of Rick will hit Hastings Entertainment, Walgreens, and Grosnor Distribution. Look for all of these to release in October.
NOSTROMO SPACESUIT FROM NECA
The film Alien will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year. To celebrate, NECA has planned to release a new 7-inch scale action figure of the Nostromo Spacesuit. The company released this photo via Twitter of an early wax sculpt. Expect to hear more about this upcoming release over the next few months.
ALIEN REACTION FROM FUNKO AND SUPER7
In other Alien news, two of the most sought after San Diego Comic-Con toy releases this year involved Super7′s ReAction toy line featuring Kenner molds of unreleased 3.75-inch action figures. Funko will soon work with Super7 to give this series of figures a wide release. This means collectors will be able to purchase Ripley and the gang at greatly reduced prices with all five characters going for $65, compared to the $100 they would have cost you at the Con. The 5-piece set is now up for preorder with an arrival date scheduled for sometime in December.
