Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here. Thought I'd go ahead and put up a place for you guys to post your reactions to this film as the weekend unfolds. When I first saw the trailer for this movie at ShoWest, I thought it was horrible. Now, having seen the movie, I still maintain it's a terrible trailer. To me, it suggested a sub-Zucker experience, a worn out spoof of a genre that was already a post-modern spoof of a genre that died a decade ago. That's not the film, though... not at all. I'm not going to review it in a conventional sense because I think it would be hard to not ruin the film. Maybe once it's been out for a week or so, and people have had a chance to see it and experience it fresh, the way I did. I will say this, though: it's a better film than SCREAM. It's more consistently entertaining. In fact, I'd say this is the finest example of genre specific film parody since Mel Brooks hit his miraculous mid-70s twofer with YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and BLAZING SADDLES. Lightning has struck. Pigs have flown. There's ice water in Hell tonight. SCARY MOVIE is a funny, filthy, wicked-smart film, and I can't recommend it enough.
What did you guys think?

“Moriarty” out.
