Warner Brothers will go to "old reliable" Clint Eastwood to take over for Steven Spielberg and direct AMERICAN SNIPER!!!

Hey Yo, Draven here.

We heard earlier this month that Steven Spielberg had exited the Chris Kyle bio-pic, AMERICAN SNIPER. We knew that the project was still a priority for Warner Brothers, and according to Twitch, it seems like they are going rely on Clint Eastwood to deliver the film for them. Bradley Cooper is still attached to star and will play the titular Navy Seal, Chris Kyle, who was self-described as the “most lethal sniper in U.S. military history”.

I am a big Eastwood fan, but to me he hasn’t made a really good film since 2006’s LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA. I did have some fun with GRAN TORINO but J. EDGAR, HEREAFTER, and even INVICTUS were big disappointments for me. His directing style is notorious for being quick, with as few takes as possible to deliver. That is great for WB, as his movies always come in on-time and under-budget but sometimes you can see that on screen. Hopefully though this will turn out to be a solid project for him, as it has a lot of potential with the interesting source material and Cooper attached to star and produce.
