Hey folks, Harry here with a look at a film that I belive about 99% of us have never ever heard of. The film comes from Taiwan, an area of the world that we don't hear too much about cinematically speaking, but... after watching this trailer... Um, I'm dying to learn more about this film... it's chances of release in this country, video release, dvd... whatever... this looks fantastic. I recently bought the dvd of The Puppet Films Of Jiri Trnka including the amazing THE EMPEROR'S NIGHTINGALE, the idea of mixing traditional asian puppets and digital special effects... well, personally from the look of the trailer, this is the exact direction that I imagine Henson might've gone in had... well, you know. I'm fascinated. Download the trailer exclusively here at AICN by Clicking here for the MPEG that was sent!
Hi Harry,
here is the anonymous french director from Cannes, and i have something very special for you. It's the biggest Taiwan blockbuster of all the time called : " legend of the sacred stone". I saw it in Cannes this year and I think I can't never forget it. It's a mix between ZU and DARK CRYSTAL. There is no actor or actress, only traditionnal asian puppets. The story is difficult to understand because the script is based on a traditionnal taiwan legend. But the digital special effects and the kung fu scenes between the puppets are terrific. I heard that Saban the producer bought it in Cannes for the states. I took the trailer in the press kit. So enjoy.
