Behold A Nifty New Poster For Disney's THE BLACK HOLE (1979)!!

I’ve always been something of a sucker for THE BLACK HOLE - Disney’s super-creepy 1979 space epic, soon to be remade of TRON LEGACY and OBLIVION director Joseph Kosinski.

I’ve always loved THE BLACK HOLE’s vibe and its subversive nature.  Its aesthetic, in many regards, is unique and unmatched to this day.  Its tone and thematics nicely represent an era in which Disney took bold cinematic chances...perhaps more so than ever before, or since.  When the company swung for the fence with movies like THE BLACK HOLE, SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, TRON, NEWSIES, THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS, and NIGHT CROSSING .  Sometimes they matched their ambition...sometimes they didn’t...but whatever the case, they were truly attempting to think outside the box in the late 70s and early/mid 80s.  I have a ton of respect for their at least trying to be interesting and new and bold in the projects they put forth - while risking very big money doing so.

Apropos of all of this, I thought I’d call your attention to a nifty new piece of art from Mark Daniels - now available HERE in extremely limited quantities.  Get it while the gettin's good.  No kickbacks involved here, no percentage of sale is being offered, etc.  Just sharing this because its a mighty fine and very Geeky piece I thought you all would enjoy. A 12" x 24" silkscreen featuring the dastardly Maximilian, the Cygnus’ robot police force, the faceless drones, the good ship Palomino, and even little Vincent.

Enjoy!
