Things are moving ahead with the big screen adaptation of SPLINTER CELL. We now have a producer!!

Hey Yo! Draven here.

It looks like things are moving forward on the big screen adaptation of SPLINTER CELL. Deadline is reporting that New Regency/Ubisoft have brought in Basil Iwanyk to produce the film, that still has Tom Hardy attached to play Sam Fisher. Iwanyk has rose to fame recently for producing the two EXPENDABLE films and THE TOWN. No director is attached yet but now that they have their producer, expect that to happen sooner rather than later.

I am cautiously optimistic for this, as I think the video games are actually pretty cinematic and Tom Hardy is a perfect choice to play Sam Fisher. It still is a video game adaptation though, and we haven’t seen a great one yet. I am still in the mindset of I will believe it when I see it, but with this and ASSASSIN'S CREED coming soon I think we have a good chance of finally getting a great one.

There is no release date for SPLINTER CELL yet but stay tuned.
