Harry here with this Big Hairy Monster character spooging all over THE PERFECT STORM, which he well... Ya know folks, I see this film next Thursday and I'm excited. Ever since I heard they did what they did and didn't do what I thought they'd do... I've been psyched. This has the potential to be a really really awesome ride as well as being an emotionally powerful film. I'll see next week, till then... Here's The Big Hairy Monster...
Greetings Harold , my good man ! The worlds favourite big hairy monster here. I just wanted to alert you to the fact that I viewed a film by the name of " The Perfect Storm " at an advance screening in Ohio last night. To put it lightly , this film sent a wave ( pun intended ) of joy through me.
This film ROCK'S hard. The special effects ROCK, Clooney ROCKS and Whalberg ROCKS. If you think that the sea effects in Deep Impact were good, just wait until you see these frickin' tidal monsters. You won't believe em' till you see the movie. Now this movie could have been just another adventure story with wooden characters and great effects, ( ie. Cutthroat Island) but the character interaction between Clooney, Whalberg and Miz Lane is so darned good that it never gets bogged down. I totally disagree with the good sheriff on! the dialogue between Whalberg and Lane being hollow, I thought that both of them were damn good in their interactions, I found some of their scenes quite emotional and moving, particularly towards the end.
What can I say for George Clooney? The man cannot seem to do wrong since his transition into " good " films with " Out of Sight ". I put his performance in this film on a par with " Three Kings ". There are plenty of opportunites in this movie for him to be overtly heroic and masculine but not once does he stray from the nature of his character, as many stars can do, just to provide stupid " kick - ass " moments for the audience. I can't think of anyone having played this character bet! ter than George. You'll understand what I mean when you see the flick.
I dearly hope that this movie kicks Patriot's ass, not that I have any resentment for Gibson, Devlin or Emmerich, it's just that Clooney deserves a hit and this movie deserves TO BE a hit.
That's my 2 cents worth, and I have a hunch that maybe, just maybe ... you'll like it.
Regards,
Bighairymonster
