More on SPIDER-MAN from Spain to New York...

Hey folks, man... is it just me or is there like Marvel stuff all over the place? Amazing how having a film like X-MEN impending will ramp up the excitement and the buzz on various Marvel properties. Now... if only we had the latest on the Michael France HULK script as well as his and Sam Hamm's script for FANTASTIC FOUR. Hmmm.... Anyone listening? hehehe

Hi Harry, that's my first time writing to to you,and I hope is not the last.

Yesterday I went to a conference at my school, here in Barcelona, where a character animator from Sony imageworks was talking about 3d graphics and special effects. He said that STUART LITTLE II is now in pre-production and is expected to release within two years and that they're working hard on the spiderman flick, testing two different ways of animating a photorealistic CG spidey model, one is traditional 3d animation and the other is motion capture.By the way,he also showed us a little bit of THE HOLLOW MAN...the invisible gorilla scene is gonna kick the audience's ass!!!!

Farewell my friends!

pepe out.

And then there is... all of this from The Prowler of the Licensing Show... He's ever lurking about, ready to drop down and steal a peek at anything and everything web-slingericious. And here's what he has to say...

Harry,

Hey there, I just wanted to add a few things about the Marvel presentation on Spider-Man, etc. The thing with Raimi was actually pretty lame, but it did lay out some info, most of which was concisely summarized by your other spy. Some things to emphasize and add:

1. No definite actor yet.

2. The webs will be coming out of the wrist. Raimi was impressed with what Cameron did on this point. I, like you, was not. Raimi said that the wrist problem will be a further "embarrassment" for an already awkward Peter Parker.

3. Villians are definitely Doc Ock (whom Raimi never refers to as Dr. Octopus, only Dr. Octavius) and Green Goblin. The Goblin will have a glider and will throw pumpkin bombs.

4. The costume designs: they were definitely preliminary. They made Spider-Man look a lot more reptilian. The bubble eyes are gone, replaced by more triangular eyes (a la the recent Marvel Comics Group character). The spider on the front was a little bigger but the same basic form. Around the head and bust, the web design made the costume look scaly. Raimi said the material will be cutting edge, referring to, of all things, wind surfing. Maybe the sails? Either way, the designs were definitely PRELIMINARY.

5. Raimi also alluded to Spider-Man's outcast status, by saying that he won't be recognized as a hero. The public will be skeptic. This is a step in the right direction.

That's all for now.
