We Alans have to stick together. There's just something... off about an Alan. Believe me I know. And I'm not talking Allen, either. That's a less efficient way to spell it. No offense with those Allens saddled with the extra letter, but it's Alan or nothing. For example, Alan Grant in JURASSIC PARK. He's awesome. He's weird, but he's awesome. He has that wide-eyed sense of wonder that us Alans tend to have, and that optimism that we just exude out of our pores.
Zach Galifianakis's character Alan has that childlike sense of wonder too. I don't think I'm on that level of weirdness, but there's something cathartic about yelling at the top of your lungs, "My name is Alan and I bought a giraffe!"
