Update, apparently this is yet another of the false STAR WARS created lines of BS that seem to populate the internet and spread throughout. I am very much considering no longer covering STAR WARS EPISODE 2 and 3 as it seems there is simply way too much assholiness and bs associated with it's fandom. Today, I've also heard that the representatitves of Jimmy Smits have said that he is not involved in any way with the Star Wars franchise. These hoaxes have gone to far.
Hey folks, Harry here with a Microbe of a different color. This isn't a Microbe that we would take drugs to cure, he's a happy AICN bug. And he managed to see some very cool stuff today. Now, before you folks begin screaming about whether this guy is real or not, I'll say this, given the complete correspondence I saw, prior to disguise... I'm convinced of the truthfulness of his report. This Microbe saw character designs and cg tests... waaaay cool. Check it out...
Good Evening, Mssr Harry. I am a teeny tiny artificial microbe that was attached onto the septum of an ILMer after a night on the town. As a Microbe, you rarely get to see much of interest. Usually some lungs, some blood and some white blood cells. This was an entirely different experience of infection. Upon entering ILM, I was lucky enough to find that the particular employee I infected was onboard SWE2. And through his nose I saw some very exciting stuff.
What did I see? Well, I'm still shaking and my brain is scrambled trying to remember everything. I had no access to writing utensils during my "visit", but I repeated names and images over and over in my brain until a few things stuck. The CG characters I saw were obviously early, untextured and looped the same motions over and over again. Keep in mind that many (if not all) of these names are only what I could remember and that information tends to get hazy when I become hyperactive.
OFOL MANDALOR (sp?) - This was actually a character sketch, a photo and what looked like a CG test. The character sketch looked more like a Roman Emperor/Crusader/Boba Fett outfit hybrid. That description is a little lame, but try to imagine a white and copper, very clean, modified Boba Fett outfit, that some people might think looked a little femme (cape, plume on helmet) but others might think looked extremely tough (copper shoulder guards, evil looking helmet, of course). The helmet had: no black visor, a copper plume and a red insignia. It was, unmistakably, a direct reference to Boba Fett's helmet. The photo had a front, back and side shot of a slicked-back, black haired man in the costume (sans helmet) with the name Ofol Mandalor, the name Tom Flanagan, height/weight info, and some extraneous info that meant nothing to me. The name Tom Flanagan doesn't ring a bell, but the face looked familiar. The CG test looked early, and the Mandalor character had no cape, the helmet on and what looked like a 6+ foot axe/pike/polearm. It was standing next to...
PEDDU - another untextured model, and a Hutt, but it was more black than green. Its arms were folded across its chest and its tail moved slightly up and down. It was located next to Mandalor, raised off of the ground, resting on a simple rectangular box. Its face was on an adjacent screen, looping through mouth movements. I couldn't tell much from those two images. The name Peddu was at the end of the file location string so that’s why I am calling it Peddu. Oh, he looked more like a threatening, barrel chested genie than a sloblike Hutt.
YODEC - this was another instance of a file name character. A Yoda type alien with a black topknot (which flowed amazingly, you wouldn't know it was CG hair). It was doing some fighting moves, looping, and is a good reason that Yoda, if he fights in this episode, should be done with CG, because it looks very, very neat. No lightsaber in hand per se, just a grey rod which, I'm assuming, is placeholder art.
TON PICEED (Tona Picede?) - okay, this is Colin Hanks. A Jedi/Apprentice that looks pretty much like every other Jedi in Star Wars Episode I. I only saw him as a reference photo, again from front, back and side. The character information was just like on Mandalor, the name Ton Piceed, the name C. Hanks, height, weight, file names, etc.
There was little else exciting and new that I could glean. A test version of Jar Jar was running with a generic dummy CG character. The dummy was knocking Jar Jar over. Not very exciting stuff. No cool looking spaceships, vehicles or badass Sith characters.
So that was it.
