Hey folks, Harry here with a couple of things for ya... First this is what happens if I nose around too much, and then here's a look at what's coming up next from Polanski. For true film geeks, Polanski is one of those guys that makes films that cinefiles often love, but sometimes go unappreciated in the mainstream... thus going into the realm of cult cinema. We all know CHINATOWN and REPULSION.... but have you seen everything else? You should... Here's the latest...
Hi Harry
Last night, the BBC showed two of Polanski's greatest films (i.e. Chinatown and Knife In The Water), and inbetween, scottish filmgeek Mark Cousins did an interview with the master himself. Among other things, Polanski revealed that his new film will deal with surviving the Warshau ghetto during W.W.II. Since Polanski has been there himself (his parents were deported), this appears to be somewhat of a personal pet-project to him. Polanski said that: "There was no urge to do this picture, but I wanted to do it for a certain reason." He also said that if there were a way to deal with your problems through filmmaking, he would have done this film long ago. Maybe it means that he finally has found the courage to do this film. I hope it turns out the way he wants.
He didn't say anything about the cast and crew, and I don't think production has started yet.
I hope this is of any use to you guys ...
Hannibal
