Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with this week's round up of excellent short films created and submitted by you, the AICN audience. After a little more than a year of SS, there's still no shortage of quality films coming in, so I think it's safe to say AICN has some damn talented filmmakers in it's audience. That's what I have for you today, a slew of quality shorts from talented individuals that cross the genre spectrum of film. We have sci-fi, thrillers, a romantic comedy, and an animated film that are all sure to rock your world. INTERVIEW WITH A ZOMBIE

And to kick off this lovely weekend, we have a gorgeously disgusting film from Chris O'Neill and Jorge Enrique. There's some true "I'm not sure what that is, but it's making me whoozy" kind of stuff in there, though nothing grotesque or truly gory... just skillful and effective storytelling and design. Check out their intimate dip into the bizarre.

LIVING WITH RIDALYN

You might remember Ron Noble from last week's SS with MORT IN HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL. He's back with another incredible short, where we "join two 12 yr old sugar-fiend, video game junkies on the quest for the perfect summer day." Seriously, it's packed with a lively, bright, energy that will have you craving a sugar high. Be sure to check out Ron's website for even more animated awesomeness.
THE SWEETEST HIPPOPOTAMUS

Here's a refresher, a six minute time travelling vacation for you from Marc Roussel of Red Sneakers Media. "Suzette is in an awful jam. Born deaf and poor in the rough and tumble mill town of Big Pine, she struggles to pay down her daddy's gambling debts by working nights as a cigarette girl at Big Jack Montag's swinging club, The Sweet Hippo. Problem is, Big Jack wants more from Suzette than just her time and half her tips. As time wears on, Suzette's hopes and dreams dwindle and fade. And now, making things worse, she thinks she might be falling in love with the club's star performer, Suitcase Sam! What's a girl to do?" There's only one way to find out - give the short a shot. You'll be glad you did.

So here's a treat. From the creative collective "Flock of Condors" we get this badass SciFi film that's featured on "Warwick Davis's Sci-Fi Shorts - Multiverse Channel." Submitted by filmmaker Adam Azmy, let's watch as "A man tears through narrow unforgiving streets, a nondescript metal canister under his arm. Its origin unknown. Its contents unknown. Its purpose unknown. And he is not alone. Someone is hot on his heels, tracking his every move with brutal efficiency and extreme prejudice. 'W.A' is the desperate story of a man on the run, the man on his trail, and the weapon that will decide their fates." It ramps from small and contained (heyo...) to rather epic.
BLIND DATE

Here's an oddity, a romantic comedy that really delivers. I'll admit, I'm much more of a blood/guts/explosions/hot chicks/big guns/ninjas kind of guy, but I'm always open to things that are, well less in your face and over the top, but are captivating nonetheless. Abi Blackmore's BLIND DATE is the that, a perfect follow up to the last short, W.A. since it pretty much has absolutely nothing in common with it. Consider this the complimentary ginger root slice to cleanse your pallet in a barrage of genres from all over. BLIND DATE is incredibly enjoyable and leaves you with a smile, no matter how anti-romcom you think you are. It's fun and incredibly well acted.

All right, here's the last film of the week and it'll take us out with a bang. Last, but truly not least - we have a film from Guy Hawkins and Bruce Windwood (who also stars) that simply kicks ass. "An assassin's obsessive behaviour puts both his mission and his own safety at serious risk."
