Hey folks, Harry here... I saw a trailer for this one the other day that... well, frankly it looked quite a bit like COCKTAIL 2: THIS TIME THEY'RE BABES! But having read the script, it really seemed to have been quite a bit deeper than that. This review from 'Billie' doesn't instill too much faith, but let's wait and see... I'm hoping there is a chance at a good film here.
Hi Harry
About a two weeks ago I attended an advanced screening of Coyote Ugly. It was definitely a work in progress. The editing was rough and the sound was not always synchronized but overall I enjoyed the movie.
Coyote Ugly is the story of Violet, played by Piper Parabo. She leaves her small town to live in New York City in order to pursue a song writing career despite the objections of her father, played by John Goodman. Her only obstacle is that she has horrible stage fright and cannot get up in front of people to sing her songs. Soon after she moves in, her apartment is burglarized so she now has no money. Violet hears about a bar called the Coyote Ugly that is hiring and she gets a job. In the mean time, she meets a man, and while their relationship progresses he gradually helps her overcome her stage fright.
I had only two complaints. First, there really wasn't any sense of time to this movie. It's hard to tell if the events happen over a long period of time or within a week making it a little confusing. Hopefully they will fix this before the actual release. Second, the ending wasn't complete. When it ended, I felt it wasn't finished and that was disappointing.
