Well Geeks there's a great time lined up for fans of TOM SAVANI that ol' Father Geek urges you all to make if you have ANY interest in Makeup Effects, THE DEAD film series, or the fantastic screen personality named Tom Savani. A while back Tom did a simular appearance in Austin at the ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE CINEMA and in addition to trailers, behind the scenes footage, 3 features, and a talk; Tom allowed Harry and another individual to empty stunt guns into the twitching (and lovely) body of a local young female stripper live on stage to the cheers of a soldout house. Her body erupted in blasts of seeming blood and bits of flesh as the shots echoed thru the theater, and Father Geek, Sister Satan, and Johnny Wad all sitting second row center were splattered in blood as the bullet hits exploded sending the beauty backward across the stage. Never fear though, a month later while visiting the set of SPY KIDS Father Geek spotted the very same lass (showing NO ill effects) sitting with Tom and the SFX crew by the chow wagon downing a Shiner Bock...
I'm part of Exhumed Films, the dopes who present 35mm classic horror
screenings in the Philly/NJ area. Last year you plugged our EVIL DEAD 2
appearance w/ Bruce Campbell, and it was an insane success. Next
Friday, we're doing a show w/ Tom Savini. We're screening Tom's
theatrical directorial debut, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD '90. Tom's going
to be on hand to introduce the film, lead a Q & A, and hopefully
dismember some poor sap on stage. Tom just got back from filming is
scene in SPY KIDS, so hopefully he'll have some juicy info on that!
He's also sticking around after the show ends (around 2:30 AM!) to sign
autographs and take pictures. Tom's a swell guy to do this, since we
can't pay him much. Fraga of

On Friday, June 2, Exhumed Films presents a screening of Tom Savini's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 1990. A remake of George Romero's original masterpiece, this film was highly regarded for its lead performace by Tony ("Candyman") Todd and startlingly realistic zombie effects. The film's director, special effects master/actor Tom Savini, will be on hand to discuss the making of the movie, his career producing make-up for some of the greatest horror films of all time (DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13TH), as well as his work with Robert Rodriguez on FROM DUSK TILL DAWN and the upcoming SPY KIDS!
The show takes place at The Harwan Theater in Mt. Ephraim, NJ (minutes from Philadelphia, close to NYC and DC). Admission to this rare opportunity to meet a horror legend is only $7. Doors open at 10:30. We'll also have cool trailers, door prizes, and stuff for sale in the lobby.
