Autumn Wind and Mosdef take in the first screening of NUTTY PROFESSOR 2: THE KLUMPS!!!

Well, it looks like THE KLUMPS is everybit as funny and outrageous as the trailers for this film insinuate. First up is a review from MOSDEF, that is basically spoiler free, and is an absolute Love Sonnet to the film. That is followed by another Love Sonnet, but filled with spoilers. So read the first one with confidence... the second one... well at your own risk. Here ya go...

Hello Harry,

MOSDEF here, I just caught a test screening of The Nutty Professor 2 in Sacramento, CA last night. The movie didn't have any credits or titles and some of the efx shots weren't done but it was practically finished.

Let me start by saying this flick will be a HUGE blockbuster. The jokes come NON STOP. Forget Austin Powers, and forget ME. MYSELF and IRENE, this is the funniest film of the summer. Also, a warning, this sequel is nowhere near as heartwarming and cuddly as the first Nutty Professor. This is one is full of raunchy humor that makes Austin Powers look like Sesame Street!

When the movie opens with Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy) at the wedding altar with Janet Jackson and taking a glimpse at her oh so beautiful cleavage only to have his alter ego Buddy Love pop out his zipper like a huge erection , you know your in for something special. The plot (which is pretty inventive) basically concerns Buddy Love (Sherman Klumps Tyler Durdenesque id) separating himself from Sherman's body, causing Sherman to get progessively dumber. It also concerns Papa Klump's struggle with impotence and a romance between Janet Jackson and Sherman.

Eddie Murphy is absolutely wonderful playing a whopping SIX different characters and making them all UNIQUE. I swear you forget that one guy is playing all these roles. Forget Jim Carrey, Eddie should take home the BEST ACTOR OSCAR for this performance (if the Academy would get off their ass and recognize comedic talent) The highlight of Eddie Murphy's performance is Grandma Klump. The entire audience nearly pissed their pants every time she opened her mouth. Another hilarious scene involves a GIANT HAMSTER and SODOMY (you'll have to go see it for yourself)

Nutty Professor 2 is a perfect summer escape. Eddie Murphy deserves to WIN Best Actor for this movie. I only wish that Universal will keep the RAUNCHY tone of this flick.

MOS DEF OUT

The following is a Spoiler Heavy review by Autumn Wind. You should be aware that Autumn Wind agrees 100% with the above review, so the only reason to read it, is if you want more of the jokes revealed and spoiled. Some people like that... some people don't. If ya don't. Hit your back button now and escape, if you want to know more than I wanted to know.... Read on...

Harry,

Interesting evening. First time at a test screening. Picked up the invites last week in front of the theatre. Were seated and told we were the very first audience to see the film. Told it was still in the unfinished stage so excuse any fuzziness or sound misalignments.

This sequel is going to be a great success. Much better than the first . More of The Klumps after their minor roles in the first film. Everyone is back; grandma takes the starring role as a horny geriatric. Mix in some "Something about Mary" humor and you have it. Janet Jackson is Shermans love interest playing a teaching associate.

Seems Sherman develops the fountain of youth and in the process figures a way to "remove" Buddy Love from himself for good. Buddy gets rejuvinated via a genetic experiment but happens to have a little "canine" mixed in. The entire dog connection throughout the film left me a bit perplexed. I felt that it didn't seem to really tie in, but I was in the minority.Buddy searches for the formula so Sherman hides it at his parents house; Dad finds it and gets a night on the town and his ass kicked in the process. The fountain of youth eventually ends up in the hands of Buddy who attempts to sell it to a pharm. corp. The sabotaged formula gets shown at a press conference; it involves a horny GIANT hamster complete with flying pellets the size of grapefruits, the dean of the school and sodomy. Lets just say the dean becomes the hamsters bitch. It will be interesting to see if they keep it in the final cut; some audience members were heard afterward saying it was a bit much (But man was it funny!)

Once again Eddie Murphy shows his true talent; the ability to morph into characters that we can relate to. The scenes of the family arguing in a restaurant and at home are hilarious. Grandma has a love interest in this film; some fantasys about Stone Phillips, and some very scary running in the field with breasts a flappin scenes.

The film looked just about finished ;some of the effects needed to be tweaked a bit. The audience gave it a hearty applause afterwards and people were laughing all the way out of the theatre. Should be summers big comedy hit.

Any questions?

Autumn Wind
