Just a few hours ago, the life of the Warner Brothers SUPERMAN movie hung in the balance. This project has been going back and forth for quite some time now. At one point the design team... went away. Meanwhile the whole time Tim Burton has been working on the project. And just a few hours ago behind that shield that once stood for classic films like Casablanca and Adventures of Robin Hood, a decision was made. SUPERMAN was given the green glow to go forward, not the green glow of Kryptonite Death. Expect the production to pick up steam, you will be hearing of more casting soon, expect an official announcement, a press release, trumpets to be playing from the top of the water tower. But there is still a question... Do they have a script? Let me rephrase that... Do they have a good script? or even... Do the have a GREAT script? I do not know.
Expect some incredible designs, incredible visions. I'm willing to look at the project with an open mind. I'll give them a blank slate. Ok ok, so Nicholas Cage is playing Superman... ok, I'll give ya that. So Tim Burton is directing, I'll give it a chance. And Danny Elfman is doing music... Coooooooooool. I know that sounds like sacrilege, but I have faith in the Elfman, redheads have a penchant for genius in my opinion. (heh heh heh, ok ok ok I'm biased) Let's hear some good stuff, and I have my Turkish Evil Eye which is supposed to ward off evil spirits. All I want is a good Superman movie, I dearly wish Tim and his crew the best of luck. I would love nothing more than to report a year and a half of bliss till the release of this new longjohn wearing man from Krypton.
