Sometimes it is hard to be Father Geek sometimes. Several months ago a spy was passing through with a videotape that he wanted to show Harry. Now because I live in the same house I saw this 45 minute tape. The subject was Lord Of the Rings, and ol Father Geek has had trouble sleeping ever since. Just watching Peter Jackson utilizing old Harryhausen techniques with a motion control twist, well it just brought a smile to my regularly moribund face. When I think about that tape and Harry and I talk. You see we're the only ones I know to have seen it other than execs at New Line. As a result we have references that others just don't have and as a result, we're just tortured. However, with every new glimpse of the film, I can see others getting everybit as excited as I am. Why, the radiant Claire Standish is dumbstruck by her current obsession with all things Lord of the Rings. Well, late here in the early morning hours I received an email to go to the following url: Take a Look See and right now, all of you will see something before Harry does. He might have seen SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE yesterday at Cannes, but you've now seen Gandalf The White before him. Believe me, this is something he's going to love to see.
