The Kidd here...
Okay, so when I first heard the premise of WARM BODIES about a romance of sorts between Teresa Palmer and a zombie (played by Nicholas Hoult), my hopes weren't high that this wouldn't turn out to be another TWILIGHT-sort of flick aiming to capitalize on the current mainstream popularity of zombies.
But after watching this first trailer from Summit Entertainment, I'm actually feeling a little more positive about the film, because there's an understated comedic undertone to this whole thing that may really play in its favor, using humor to save it from those worst fears of being a serious love story about a hottie and the undead.
I don't know that I'm buying this whole zombies curing themselves with love idea (it might just be a little too sentimental for me), especially since it's what will separate the zombies from these soulless skeletons that are only around to give WARM BODIES some type of villain... but I'll reserve judgment for that when it comes to watching this flick that really looks a lot better than it has any right to be.
