I just found out what one of my absolute fave 'writers' is up to. You see this page would not exist if it hadn't been for a script I read in 1988 by Sam Hamm called BATMAN. When a local Austin Screenwriter turned that script from a perfect script to well... what it became, I decided to see if I could figure out why. That led me to where I am today. Well I always try to keep my eyes open for what Sam is up to and I found out about an extremely cool project called DARK TOWN, which is currently "fast-tracked" at Fox, with Henry Selick (one of my fave guys, Nightmare Before Christmas, and James And The Giant Peach) directing and Chris Columbus (the guy who should be doing Superhero movies) producing. It's about a coma victim whose consciousness is trapped in a weird netherworld -- he discovers that the doctors are about to pull the plug, and he has exactly twelve hours to get back to his body before they do it. (Oh by the way, it's a comedy, if I didn't mention that before.) Nick Cage was attached to star, but since the studio wants to start in October and no one knows when SUPERMAN will be ready to shoot, it now looks like he won't be free. Hopefully Superman will get underway ASAP, so that Cage can be available. However, who knows when Supes will get done. By the way I found this out from Willard, who I took home with me from one of them Grindhouse Theaters in L.A.
