RAY FERRY IS A LOSER!! THE COURT SAYS SO!! LONG LIVE DR. ACULA!!

Well, kids, it's all over but the inevitable appeal and namecalling from the LOSER. Yes, that's right… according to Los Angeles courts, Ray Ferry is a LOOOOOOSAH! Forry J., the one and only Dr. Acula, has roundly trounced the scoundrel Ferry in a major legal victory. It's one of those times when it's not only okay to dance… it just might be mandatory.
If you don't know what any of this is about, take a look at this article where we first discussed the trial, or read this tribute to the man on a happier day.
To read an excellent piece of reportage that sums up yesterday's outstanding verdict, check this piece from today's LA TIMES.
There's one line in particular to pay attention to, found near the end of the article. Allow me to point it out so we can savor it in all its glory.
"Mr. Ackerman's case was based entirely on sympathy," Ferry said. "On appeals, it's going to get ugly."
Oh, Ray… such are the bitter words of a… dare I say it again?… LOOOSER! You lost so painfully once, I can't believe you're really going to go through it again. You have already humiliated yourself. I mean, maybe you're deluded enough to believe statements from your FAQ at the FAMOUS MONSTERS website like "Editor Ray Ferry has also been interviewed for some projects as an authority on classic horror," but most of us had you pegged as a snakeoil salesman who doesn't care about fans or horror or anything but your own wallet years ago. Please don't make it worse. Don't continue to lie about things like the fact that your FM covers these days are all just cheap Photoshop jobs you've done from real photographs, rather than paintings by a mysterious artist who you've actually interviewed. I mean, you hanged yourself. You're the one who actually said on the stand, "I'm being honest with you when I say I lied." It's over. It wasn't even close. As one observer of the trial said, "If this was a boxing match, they would have stopped the fight."
I'm going to be writing more about this after talking to some key players this weekend. Expect it in the new RUMBLINGS. For now, it's enough to just know that good things do happen to good people. The entire jury took to calling Forry "Dr. Acula" during deliberation. That's how quickly this man touches people's lives when they meet. I think that's pretty phenomenal. This weekend, I get to go do some incredible film geek things, stuff that makes me feel like I'm eleven years old again. When I feel like that, I can't help but think of Forrest Ackerman, a guy who told so many of us that there were other people who loved the same films we did, who told us it was okay to love those films.
God bless you, Forry, and congratulations from me and from everyone here at AICN. Anyone who is in LA and wants to visit Forry this weekend to congratulate him in person should call 323.MOON.FAN and follow directions.
