Apparently Joss Whedon just announced at New York Comic Con that it was decided long ago that the “ Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.” TV series would be built around Agent Phil Coulson (who died in “The Avengers”).
I’m thrilled.
Clark Gregg will again play Coulson, the SHIELD operative first introduced onscreen in "Iron Man." Gregg wend on to play the character in "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer," "The Consultant," "The Avengers," and even the animated TV series "Ultimate Spider-Man."
There's also chatter, by the way, that Gregg's Coulson will also appear in "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World."
