Fox Searchlight must really like what they have on their hands with HITCHCOCK (formerly ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO) to drop it right smack in the middle of Oscar screening season like this, as the studio just announced on Twitter not too long ago that they'd be bringing their behind the scenes account of the making of Hitchcock's classic quite soon - November 23 of this year soon.
Sir Anthony Hopkins stars as the titular director, with a supporting cast around him that features the likes of Helen Mirren (Alma Reville),Scarlett Johansson (Janet Leigh), James D'Arcy (Anthony Perkins), Jessica Biel (Vera Miles), Michael Stuhlbarg (Lew Wasserman), Toni Collette (Hitchcock’s secretary Peggy), Michael Wincott (Ed Gein), Kurtwood Smith (Geoffrey Shurlock), Richard Portnow (Barney Balaban) and Danny Huston (Whitfield Cook).
HITCHCOCK opens on Black Friday, two days after RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, RED DAWN, LIFE OF PI and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK all hit theatres in time for the holiday weekend. Someone may wind up moving out, because that looks like an awfully crowded slate.
