Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
We’re going kind of obscure today. As a horror freak growing up I was aware of this film because of the VHS cover, but as I became a bigger film nerd I also became aware of its pedigree. In the early ‘80s Michael Mann directed a Nazi horror film starring Ian McKellen, Scott Glenn, Jurgen Prochnow and Gabriel Byrne called The Keep.
I caught up with it rather late, only in the last 5 or 6 years, but you can hardly blame me since it didn’t hit DVD thanks to some kind of copyright silliness regarding Tangerine Dream’s score, which seems to be owned by a few different people and thus this early fantasy/horror tale by Michael Mann is hard to come by.
Personally, I don’t think the movie quite lives up to the thought of what a movie with all those elements could be, but its definitely worth a visit if you stumble upon a VHS or if, god forbid, we eventually get it on DVD or Blu-Ray.

Tomorrow’s pic is coming down with a cold. Is there a doctor in the house?
