El Chango adds some changes to his report on THE MEXICAN

Father Geek here with a special Latin-AICN update...

El Chango has sent our new Sao Paulo office some more information on THE MEXICAN which is filming in central Mexico.

Congratulations on the new 'Latin-AICN' section...

I've got an update for you from the set of 'The Mexican'... the casting of Sean Connery in the film turned out to be just a rumor. Gene Hackman will have a small part, though (probably the one Connery was rumored to be playing). Mr. Hackman will be arriving here in Real de Catorce tomorrow -april 26- and will only shoot for a few days.

Julia Roberts will also be in Real de Catorce only for a few days, since most of her scenes are based in Las Vegas.

The rest of the cast inlcudes J. K. Simmons (Cider House Rules), David Krumholtz (10 Things I hate about you), Richard Coca (Selena), Michael Serveries (Titanic), Sherman Augustus (Virus) and the one and only James Gandolfini.

Some famous and talented mexican actors will also be in the movie; Luis Felipe Tovar (Todo el Poder, Santitos), Ernesto Gomez Cruz (El Callejon de los Milagros), Pedro Armendariz Jr. (La Ley de Herodes) y Salvador Sanchez (La Ley de Herodes).

Lawrence Bender (Pulp Fiction) and John Baldcchy (Simon Birch) are producing; Gore Verbinski (Mouse Hunt) is directing and Dariusz Wolski (Dark City) is in charge of photography.

That's it for now; now that there's a section for latin american films, I'll try to keep you informed of everything that's going on here in Mexico.

Saludos,

El Chango
