The 2:47 Olympics Promo
For NBC’s REVOLUTION!!

I am – Hercules!!

NBC’s “Revolution” is the latest from Eric Kripke (The WB’s “Tarzan” and “Supernatural”) and Bad Robot (“Undercovers,” “Person of Interest,” “Alcatraz”). It’s about a world 15 years after cars, airplanes and electricity all mysteriously stopped working.

“Revolution” screened in its entirety at Comic Con last month, and I can confirm that the best part of it is the brief 15-years-earlier prologue that depicts the world going dark as jet aircraft rain from the sky. The characters we get to know 15 years later are underwhelming, and the powerless environment Kripke creates doesn’t always make a lot of sense.

In this world, DVD players don’t work, so the bad guys never saw “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and therefore apparently don’t know that – if you have a gun – it’s pretty easy to kill a guy who’s amazingly good with a sword.

Having said that, the oversized promo NBC ran during the Olympics Monday night is plenty alluring:

"Revolution" premieres Sept. 17 on NBC.
