John Ary here with a special action figure giveaway.  This week marks the 82nd birthday of The Shadow. He made his debut as the narrator of the Street and Smith radio program Detective Story Hour  in 1930.  What better way to celebrate his life in comics, radio, and film than with a contest?!

Who draws the evil that lurks in the hearts of men? YOU DO…If you want to win the first in a new line of 1/6 scale pulp hero and villain action figures from Go Hero X Executive Replicas.

Ain't It Cool News is giving away a Go Hero Shadow prize pack that includes a 1/6 Scale Shadow Figure, Go Hero T-Shirt, and more.

Step 1: Like Go Hero’s Facebook Page.
Step 2: Make a Pulpy Art Cover
Step 3: Send it to me HERE.

This is just something I whipped up, but if you need more inspiration, check out some of this classic pulp artwork.  Also, I've posted some hi-res stock photography of the new Shadow action figure that you can use if you like.
Now for the rules:

Create a 2D original PG RATED* pulp cover. It can be digital, traditional, or photographic…but must have that over the top pulpy goodness! It can be of the Shadow, an original character, or just some screaming dame trapped under a giant ravenous jungle spider. Originality counts! Layers of pulp themes count! Freshness counts (i.e. don’t just drag out some image you made 15 years ago.) There are many professionals out there who may jump in and raise the bar…so put effort into it. 1 submission per FB account. By submitting art, you grant permission to publish your art for promotional purposes only. All images must be submitted by the original artist only. Must be 18 or older. Files must be submitted in 72 DPI, no smaller than 8.5”x11” (612x792 pxls), in JPG format. Winners will be determined by Go Hero & AICN. *PG means No vulgar language, ultra graphic violence, or overtly sexy imagery/pornography PLEASE! Our intent is to have a collection of images that would inspire kids to fall in love with pulp art. Submit your art by August 18th. Winner will be announced August 21st.
