This week's SATURDAY SHORTS are sure tickle your funny bone.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with a late night edition of SATURDAY SHORTS, a bash of crazy fun with comedy out the whazzoo. We've got some seriously funny shorts for you fine folk today with everything from refined intelligent humor to fart jokes. That all said, if you're the slightest bit pretentious, move along - this week's sole purpose is to put a smile on your face.

This week has been quite a shock to the system for all of us and I think a buffet of funny films is exactly in order. On a personal note, I literally pulled an unconscious man out of his truck on Wednesday while on the phone with 911 (Near Capitol Plaza - just north of 51st street on the feeder of IH 35 in Austin, TX) and that had a massive impact on my own world views, two days later on my way to work I hear about the horrendous monstrosity that happened the night before... I don't know about you, but laughter is more than welcome this weekend and as I've been fortunate to have so many wonderful comedies come my way, I'm incredibly excited to share them with you in the hopes that even just one of them might brighten your day. Sometimes you're left stupified at reality and that's the best time to escape into a film, a mental vacation where your job is to sit and enjoy something - that's what I present for you today, a vacation into the funny worlds created by your fellow AICN readers.

Go grab yourself some popcorn, lock your kids in a closet, kill the lights, relax and check out this little weekly film fest we've got ourselves here:

TALKING CARL TALKS TOO MUCH

TRT: 4:10

What a treat, let's kick this shindig off with Justin Dec's short starring the ever so lovable Jim O'Heir, Jerry from PARKS AND REC, and guess what, it's funny as shit. "There's a reason they call him "Talking Carl".... While on a stakeout to case a jewelry store, a small time thief gets more than he bargained for when his new partner in crime just won't... stop... talking."

JOE'S COWBOY BOOTS

TRT: 0:42

Bam! Here's this chucklefest of a faux-ad from Mickey Cardoni & Ionas von Zezschwitz. It's 42 seconds of stupid fun. You may or may not like it, but I dig it. I'm curious to see more from these guys. It feels very much like they walked into a store and just shot without permission from anyone, and that I dig. This one feels BORAT-ish almost, but I'm a fan.

DELMER BUILDS A MACHINE

2:34

This next one comes to us from Landon Zakheim. "An account of the most important event in recorded History."

DEATH CARTS

TRT: 6:59

Ever left your shopping cart out in the parking lot? Ever did wheelies with them down the aisles of a store? Ant Carpendale's short might just blow your mind and change how you shop.

ROONEY'S WORLD

TRT: 20:58

Hudson Phillips has a kickass short here for us with a style I'm head over heels for. "A kid's show host tries to piece his life back together after his show is canceled, but his jealous animated co-host shows up causing trouble in his new-found love life."

And that's it for this week guys and gals. If you enjoed any of these fun flicks, then bam - my job is complete. I dug each and every one of them for very different reasons, but that's just me. If you however hated all of them, please just go back to kicking puppies and twirling your handlebar mustache.

If you're new to SATURDAY SHORTS and want to check out some other really cool shorts that have screened here, here's an evergrowing list of filmic fun:

If you have a short and think it belongs here or are on the fence about whether to send it in, please do send it in - I'd love to see what you've put together. I've already seen hundreds of fresh new filmmakers' shorts and like any good addict, I need more!

Shoot me an email at "Mike@aintitcool.com"

In the subject line include:

“SHORTS” + “Your film’s name” + “The film’s genre”

Then, in the body of the email, please include a synopsis of the film and any contact information you might think I need or would want published.

Please don’t feel the need to submit multiple times.  I swear to each of you I truly check every email I get, and sending the same short a few times just makes it a bit messier.

Remember, the filmmakers might still be in the audience, so feel free to share your thoughts in Talkbacks below. (JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE). I picked them, so you know I think highly of all of these, but how about you fine folks? How'd you like 'em?
