Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
So, I got back from Comic-Con and jumped right into moving into my brand spankin' new house (and shooting my appearance on Big Red’s big internet show). Unfortunately the internet isn’t hooked up in the new place, so I’ve been a bit out of it this week, but to make up for the lack of BTS pics I’m going to give you a few of them at once.
Any photo that can feature both Bill Duke and Arnold Schwarzenegger is a win in my book, so let’s start there. Commando is kind of pure Schwarzenegger id in feature film form. I mean, it starts with Schwarzenegger carrying a motherfucking tree on his shoulder. Not some lumber, not a caber, a whole tree!
It also has some of his best one liners (the headline one being one of my favorites along with “I let him go”). This film is pure “I’m in my prime” show off Arnie with a great supporting cast of sleazebag characters.

Now we’re going to dip into some Verhoeveny goodness! I think Paul McCrane’s melting man finale takes RoboCop to a whole new plane of awesome. Rob Bottin’s makeup is gross, freaky and supremely cool… which kind of describes Bottin’s work on the whole, actually. So, here’s McCrane and Verhoeven on the set. Click to enlargen.
Next up is a nice shot of John Hughes and the cast of The Breakfast Club hanging out. There’s not a whole lot of Breakfast Club images I’ve found, especially in high resolution, but every time I see one it puts a smile on my face.
Finally, Michael Jackson having a little drinky-poo while in Rick Baker’s fantastic Thriller makeup. Not a bad set of images, eh?
