Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here. When I got this message from Wrong Dimension Boy, I figured it was worth sharing with you. As you probably know by now, Jude Law has been one of the primary names in contention to play Peter Parker in Sam Raimi's upcoming SPIDERMAN, and that's a choice I'm pretty damn happy with. We've also heard rumors that Wes Bentley dropped out of QUEEN OF THE DAMNED to play Spidey, but I'm hoping he just dropped out because he recognized that the QOTD script wasn't fit to wipe his ass with. Now there's a new name bouncing around, one that this spy is sure is going to be the actual man beneath the mask. If so, I have to say I'm intrigued. Later today, you should be seeing reviews from Harry, John Robie, and myself for Sony's THE PATRIOT, and in them, we'll all be discussing the latest work of this young actor. Until then, enjoy this rumor!!
An inside source at Sony has told me that Heath Ledger (from "10 Things I Hate About You") is going to be Spider-Man. The person who told me this information was so sure about it that they said: "It's pretty much common knowledge around the Sony studios. They want to start promoting Heath as the next Brad Pitt". Believe me, I am not making this up.
Heath will be prominently featured in the Mel Gibson picture "The Patriot", which should get more people familiar with him.
Personally I would love to have seen Wes Bentley ("American Beauty") as Peter Parker, but he's probably on contract with Dreamworks.
You can ignore this e-mail if you like, but when they make the announcement, don't say I didn't warn you!
