The bad news is “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” is ending its run this year on the Disney XD channel.
The good news is an allegedly darker animated series based on Joss Whedon’s big-screen “Avengers” megablockbuster will succeed “Earth’s Mightiest,” Marvel TV executive Jeph Loeb told Comic Con attendees.
“We’re going to give you the best Avengers we can and that’s a promise from Marvel Television,” said Loeb. Big words from Loeb, the hack who shit all over Mark Millar’s sterling “Ultimates” franchise by writing the purely awful “Ultimates 3.”
Also headed to Disney XD:
* “Marvel Mash-Up,” which will feature the Fantastic Four and (I’m guessing) many other characters from the Marvel Universe.
* “Hulk and the Agents of SMASH,” which will feature a heroic team of Hulks: the Green Hulk, the Red Hulk, the She-Hulk and the Abomination-like A-Bomb.
