Warners Attempting To Grow JUSTICE LEAGUE Character Awareness/Branding By...

Even though, for whatever reason, I suck at playing BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, I love, love, LOVE the game...I just make a piss-poor Batman I suppose.

Given the title's overall awesomeness, and it's immense success, it's no surprise at all that The Powers That Be would be looking to launch a third Bat-game of the same ilk (ARKHAM CITY followed-up ARKHAM ASYLUM).  What is a tad surprising, although not really when one stops to think about it,  is that said proposed third game may end up incorporating Justice League characters.

New, highly stylized title is being developed as a prequel that revolves around Batman's first meeting with the Joker. It's based on the Silver Age of DC's comicbooks from the 1950s when the Caped Crusader teamed with other heroes like Superman and founded the Justice League of America.

[EDIT]

New game would likely bow in 2014 at the earliest.

...says Variety HERE

This is, evidently, part of an effort by WB to grow the JUSTICE LEAGUE characteras and branding, and increase their overall visibility, as the studio slowly moves towards a live action JUSTICE LEAGUE feature film at some point down the road. That film, we recently learned, is currently being scripted by GANGSTER SQUAD's Will Beal, and represents (as far as we know) the first significant effort to bring The JL to the big screen since George Miller's high-profile CGI extravaganza was scuttled a few years ago.

Towards similar ends, we've recently learned that the upcoming LEGO movie will include LEGO variations of Batman and Superman (details HERE), and LEGO iterations of Justice League characters play a significant role in the rather awesome LEGO BATMAN 2: DC Super Heroes game which was recently released.  Youthful variations on DC heroes can also be seen on Cartoon Network's YOUNG JUSTICE series.

What I'm really curious about is:  given that the super-shitty GREEN LANTERN didn't exactly se the world on fire...and that Bale is supposedly stepping down from the Batman role (we've heard nothing certain about plans for a relaunch of that series)...and that we don't know how Cavill is gonna shake out as Supes next year...HOW does Warner intend to go about pulling together a JL movie?  Cast any roles not currently occupied by an actor in an existing DC film franchise (of which there may be few or none) anew?  With the hopes of spinning them off into their own adventures if the JL movie is a success?  Would seem to be the only real option.  O, just approach the whole shebang as a "blank slate" and let the JL movie universe be it's own unique thing, regardless of what is or is not happening with other DC film properties around them?  Might actually be easier.

Thinking aloud here.  Fun food for thought.  Stay tuned...
