I can't wait for Rian Johnson's LOOPER, and I'm glad that he's again collaborating with his cousin Nathan Johnson for the score (who says nepotism doesn't pay off?). This exclusive featurette goes into how Nathan collected various sounds from unlikely sources to build his "virtual orchestra" and I really dig how he was inspired by legendary sound designer Ben Burtt to come up with the score. I'm really looking forward to hearing the score in its entirety, but for now, here's a taste of LOOPER's score, including the track, "Time Machine":
Rian Johnson and Nathan Johnson will be appearing at San Diego Comic-Con at "The Character Of Music" panel on Thursday, July 12th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Room 5AB to discuss their score for LOOPER, along with their other collaborations, along with Blake Neely (ARROW), Chris Lennertz (REVOLUTION, SUPERNATURAL), and Joseph Trapanese (THE RAID: REDEMPTION, TRON: UPRISING) and Charlie Bean (TRON: UPRISING). If you're there be sure to see their panel - they'll also be giving away free goodies.
