Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here making my weekly trek out of the jungle to bring you a kickass lineup of fun shorts made by sexy folks just like yourselves. This week I've got a slew of funny flicks that should put a smile on your face (if not, then I'll just assume you have a heart of stone and just can't be pleased - someone who quite possibly steals ice cream from kids after kicking their puppy...) Seriously, the whole point of SATURDAY SHORTS for me is relaxing and getting to dip your toes in a mini film festival every weekend (hopefully when you're not working), watching things you may or may not have heard of just because like me you're always on the lookout for unique stories and BAM! that screams "Show me something funny/enjoyabe, so I can forget about Bill and Linda back at the office riding my ass about XYZ." Well friend, you're in luck.
Also, while I might be screening a short today I recieved a week or so ago, there's stuff here I got sent back in March, but for some reason or other haven't been able to post yet. If you've shot in a short, first off "Hell yeah, you rock," but the flipside = if you haven't seen it yet, please don't go all Negative Nancy in the Talkbacks below. This is a unique thing we've got here - I look at the Talkbacks as a sort of post Q&A, an opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts - however if you're thoughts are "I banged your mother" or "Worst... movie... ever!" then take that somewhere else por favor. Let's just have some fun.

Let's kick today's shindig of fun off with this twisted black comedy here, sent in by filmmaker Leigh Richards. I'm left slightly disturbed after watching this black comedy, but kind of like that (and it's got a gorgeous overall design with a freaky real feeling primary set, the colors/lack thereof are damn sexy).

Zeik's Bad Day

This scifi/comedy gem comes to us from writer-director Javier Grillo-Marxuach and as an added bonus - if you're into lots of blood, you'll certainly find yourself right at home watching Javier go cinematically psycho. Again, fun stuff here. Check out the site for Javier's company HERE.
And that's the last short of the day, BUT hey I got a cool little update from Elliot Cowan, a filmmaker whose short I was able to have in a past column (THE THING IN THE DISTANCE). Apparenlty Elliot was hit up by a production company, secured a few investors, and is set to shoot a low budget feature with his characters (Boxhead and Roundhead). Elliot, along with Lyla Ribot, Anamaria Solis, and production designer Neil Ross looks to have the feature out next September beginning in Romania. Congrats guys!
Again, believe it or not - if you've had a short here, it's because I personally dig it, so feel free to keep me updated with whatever you guys/gals have going on.
