Get More: The Real World (Season 27), Full Episodes
Notes on MTV’s “The Real World: St. Thomas,” launching with an hourlong episode tonight at 10 p.m.:
* This is the 27th season of the MTV staple.
* The cast learns on-screen that they’re going to the Virgin Islands. I wonder if the 21st season cast of “Real World: Brooklyn” is happy for them.
* Everyone is offered free rum shots as they exit their planes. One of the girls picks up some libation on the trip in shows up at the house smashed.
* One of the roommates is a Virginia girl named LaToya.
* Two (possibly three) of the roommates are gingers; one of them is 6’6”.
* Two of the seven cast members coincidentally sport “Hakuna Matata” tattoos.
* Two of the housemates are black. None appear to be Latino, Asian or gay, but I’ve been wrong before.
* Two of the male castmembers are hot for Laura, the house’s female redhead, but only one seems destined to triumph.
* The bulk of the first hour focuses on a mopey, drama-craving Southie, 21 Forever employee and suicide survivor named Brandon. At 24 he’s the oldest housemate. He claims he’s six months sober but appears to swig beer throughout the premiere. He has big fucking holes in his earlobes and describes his new home as “So dope.”
Comedy Central says of tonight’s “Decision 3012”:
Leela dabbles in politics when she manages a campaign for a presidential candidate, but the race is complicated by a missing birth certificate.
