“Awake” mastermind Kyle Killen said one of Michael Britten’s realities really was reality, and that he had not decided which. He also explained that a lot of final episode, including the final scene, was set in a second dreamscape in which anything could happen. At least a few viewers circled back for last week’s “Awake” season finale, but both “Awake” and “Rookie Blue” were trounced by a repeat of “The Mentalist.”
