RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Sequel Gets A Title And Release Date, Plus Fox Sets Dates For ROBOPOCALYPSE, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS 2 And A Will Smith 3D Re-Release!!

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES 2 just wasn't going to cut it, so what's the sequel going to be called...?

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Interesting.

Sounds like we're not quite at the PLANET OF THE APES stage yet, and that there's at least one more step to go before we get there, so anticipating this follow-up does as well or better than the last film, I think we may be seeing the completion of an APES trilogy soon enough. However, the second movie comes first, and it's coming on May 23, 2014, which suddenly feels like an awful long time away.

According to Exhibitor Relations, the untitled sequel to X-MEN: FIRST CLASS also gets a date later that summer - July 18 - and while they're at it, Fox is just going to totally load up around the summer of '14, moving Steven Spielberg's ROBOPOCALYPSE from July 3, 2013 to April 25, 2014 (the last weekend before that first May opener, which, as of now, is supposed to be THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2).

However, if you're looking for something happening a little sooner, INDEPENDENCE DAY is getting a theatrical re-release, in 3D no less, next year on that vacated July 3 date.
