It's really hard to appreciate what Disney and Pixar are doing with these 3-D re-releases ahead of time, because, unless you're able to catch the trailers for the upcoming films in a theatre, watching them in 2-D on your computer screen really doesn't do it justice.
It's nice to see a lot of these moments again for September's re-release of FINDING NEMO, but I can already do that on my TV by popping in a DVD or Blu-ray of the same movie. The lure is seeing these movies again on the big screen, but also to see them with the extra dimension added on (something I imagine the Pixar films will lend themselves to a lot better than the traditional 2-D animation of the other modern Disney classics).
I got a quick glimpse at FINDING NEMO 3D a few months back and the ocean scenery really looks amazing in 3-D. That ray shot you see in this new trailer will give you an idea... but it's still only 2-D.
